Dolan & Knight Property Management Inc. was formed in 1979 by Mark T. Dolan, CPM and Gilbert C. Knight, CPM. The company was formed with the mission of providing excellent professional property management services to real estate investors in the greater Los Angeles area.
In 1989 Mark purchased Gilbert’s share of the firm and continued on with the management business specializing in residential properties. In 2015 the title of President was assumed by his son, Jon Anthony Dolan, who came into the company with a Real Estate Finance Degree from San Diego State University and a Broker’s license. In 2018 Jon Anthony Dolan obtained the highly sought after accreditation of Certified Property Manager (CPM). He is joined by his brother Erin M. Dolan, C.P.A. who functions as Chief Financial Officer of the company.
At Dolan & Knight we understand that each property under our management is unique and we take pride in being flexible in meeting the investor’s needs as well as the tenants we serve. We have the capability to manage any size property or portfolio. We manage several properties with on-site staff that are capable of handling the daily maintenance issues as well as dealing with tenants’ needs. We also offer 24 hour maintenance service with our in-house maintenance staff. We also manage individual homes and condo units, however we do not manage condominium HOA’s. Unlike most management companies today, when you call our offices during business hours you will speak to a person as opposed to voice mail. We will respond to your request immediately.
Dolan & Knight understands the importance of keeping your property maintained. Whether it’s a major emergency or minor repair, we are equipped to solve the problem immediately. We have supervisory staff as well as maintenance personnel on call 24 hours a day. For larger projects, we have long term relationships with high quality, competitively priced contractors who are licensed and insured. For most jobs over $5,000.00 we require three bids.
We understand the importance of aggressive marketing and rent collections, fast unit preparation for vacancy turnover and timely reporting to you the client with accurate financial reporting. Our financial reports are prepared by our in-house CPA, Erin M. Dolan.
